Each year students from the video production program at Battle Ground High School go on to pursue degrees, and ultimatley careers, in the fields of video production, film and television production.BGHS VP Logo

Cody Wetherill

Cody Wetherill (2004)

Cody graduated, along with his twin brother Kurt, from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Electronic Media and Film in the Spring of 2006. While at Eastern Cody and Kurt entered the First Night 48-Hour Film Festival in Spokane and received a People’s Choice award for their short film “Resolutions”. Their film was also screened at the Spokane International Film Festival and aired nationally on the Independent Film Channel. This year at the festival their short film "Snowsport" took the Jury Panel Second Place and will again be screened at the Spokane International Film Festival and as part of a special program on KSPS public television.

Cody, Kurt and 3 alumni from Eastern develed a 30-minute television series for KXMN, the “My Network TV” affiliate in Spokane. “Showmagedon” is a skit-based variety show, incorporating live-action, animation and puppetry. They have several webisodes online at www.showmageddon.com. The show has been featured on the front page of myspace and recently haad 200,000 views. They have been contacted by several people to produce commercials for them and several stations including MTVU and My Network TV in the Tri-Cities have aired some of their skits.Along with the television show Cody and Kurt have several short films they are entering in festivals.

Cody currently works for North by Northwest Entertainment in Spokane, WA. He worked as a locations assistant on the movie "The Holidays" starring "Full House's" Dave Coulier which will air on the Lifetime Channel later this year. In the next couple of weeks cody wil begin pre-production work on the company's next film.



Kurt Wetherill

Whitney Wood (2004)

Whitney graduated from Collins College in Tempe, AZ with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production. At Collins Whitney received training in the use of high-definition, film and digital video cameras. He was one of 3 students his year to earn a certification level of 3.

Last year Whitney worked on several video and film shoots for local production companies in Tempe. He worked as a production assistant for Gallery Films, a boom operator and production assistant for YK Productions, a camera operator for Virtue Graphics and a gaffer for Swim or Die Productions.

During the summer of 2004 Whitney directed a multi-camera remote crew for the 2004 Clark College graduation commencement. He also interned at FVTV, Fort Vancouver Television performing editing duties, equipment management and office duties.

Whitney is currently seeking work in commercial and broadcast production, with a special emphasis upon High-Definition shoots.


Michal Shipman

Michal Shipman (2005)

Michal is currently in his second year at Biola University in La Mirada, CA after attending Clark College in Vancouver, WA. Michal was accepted into their film and television program after showcasing his short, "The Tell Tale Heart" which was made while he was a Junior at Battle Ground High School.

During the summer of 2003, Michal attended the UCLA Arts Camp, on the campus of UCLA in Southern California. The one-week crash course in digital filmmaking takes students through the process of creating a short film. Within 5 days Michal had to assemble a crew (producer, director, director of photography, editor, and a location scout), write the script, pitch it to actual directors, shoot and edit the film, Screen the rough cut, make final edits, and showcase it in a huge theater. The final project for his group “First Date” won accolades. The summer program is run through the US Peforming Arts organization.

While in school, Michal has also had the opportunity to work in the real world of video production. His various projects include re-editing a video that a client was not satisfied with, keying some green screen footage, and working on a 30 minute short film called "The Red Machine"

Michal is currently working on an animation project involving some minor stop animation, “Godzilla X King Ghidorah”. More information about this project can be found here..


Adam Weber

Adam Weber (2005)

Adam received his Associates Degree in Television Production Technology from Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, OR in 2007.

Adam has just accepted a position with Carnival Cruise Lines as part of the Shipboard AV Media staff. He will be stationed out of New Orleans and work on a Caribbean cruise ship. He will spend 8 months creating shooting and editing videos that are sold at the end of each cruise. He will videotape everything form excursions to on-board activities to weddings. Adam hopes to work for Carvial for several years and eventually start his own video company.


Jon Ciraulo

Jon Ciraulo (2006)

Jon is in his first year at George Fox University in Newberg, OR.

Jon is pursuing a degree in theology from George Fox but continues to work with video on occasion.








Justin Fadness (2006)

Justin Fadness Justin is in his second year at the Art Institute of Seattle earning his Associate of Applied Arts in Video Production.

Justin received a scholarship to attend the art Institute through the Northwest Career Colleges Federation.







Sean Kenney

Sean Kenney (2006)

Sean is in his first year in the Television Production Technology program at Mount Hood Community College.

Sean hopes to work in the television and video production fields when he graduates.






Erik Moritz

Erik Moritz (2006)

Erik is in his second year in the Television Production Technology program at Mount Hood Community College.

Heather O'Farrell

Heather O'Farrell (2006)

Heather is in her second year at Pacific Luthern Univeristy in Tacoma, WA where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree with an emphasis in video production. Heather was accepted into her first video production class despite not having the prerequisite classes based on her previous video production experience.

She works on campus in the multimedia services department and has an internship at the PBS affiliate, KBTC, in Tacoma where she works on their show "Full Focus". Heather also works for her father's video production company, Screaming Flee Productions, when she gets the time.



Robert Pallister

Erik is in his first year in the Television Production Technology program at Mount Hood Community College.

Robert hopes to work in the television and video production fields when he graduates.
